But today’s health and wellness organizations need to do more complex promotions, one that ties social media, their customers and the wider online community. Many today need to expand their marketing muscle; very few can survive with a small advert in their local newspaper.

Many bloggers have a large following, but you need to make sure their followers are genuinely engaged. Also, some don’t provide measurement for most of their promotional activities or even can provide a report on how many clicks you’ll receive from an earlier blog post. You will both need to work out your expectations on your working agreement. In other words, you may have to reduce your expectations and work slowly with a brand ambassador until you can see the results you expect from using a brand ambassador.
Branded Annual Event
The larger our online community grows, the more we love to connect one-to-one. Our desire to connect and belong is strong; it’s what we crave. Consider adding a branded event or local workshops to your marketing mix. You’ll not only meet your most loyal fans, but you’ll also hear what they want next, which could be great for your product development.
Leverage Local Event or Charity
Take your time and pick the right charity you want to support. Sometimes it is better to support a young charity and get in early enough to help a local event or charity grow this way, most of the press will be directed at you and that’s the point. Remember, if there is no press associated with your investment, then it’s not worth your time.
Referral / Loyalty Program
While this tactic seems overdone and almost every store offers a loyalty program, these still work, especially to your loyal customers. They want to love you and an annual 10% discount on their birthday goes a long way.
Press Release
Press releases allow you to engage with the media. Even if your news is on the low scale of interest, it gives you the opener you need to connect with journalists and editors. Please do your homework first, get to know the media and the journalists before contacting them. Consider what you want to pitch. In addition to wanting a plug for your company, you may want to go over some topics they haven’t considered for your industry.
Email marketing
Not sure where to start? Subscribe to your competitors and a few others and see what they do. Hopefully, this will fuel your creativity. But, take note, email marketing is not easy.
